High-end Kitchen Design in Leawood and Kansas City.
Café chic design
Client Needs
A young couple with two kids who purchased a 1970’s-era “old” Leawood home because of the location, but didn’t like much about the interior, so they hired Erica Kay Design.
Project Goal
The kitchen design goal was to create an open-concept layout which meant knocking down many walls. The couple has a mid-century flair, who needed lots of organization and a space to entertain family and friends. The design we chose was a trendy restaurant-inspired design, featuring; shaker-style cabinet doors from KC-based Wes Edwin Design, crisp white subway with dark grout, a dark kitchen island to ground the space and a touch of natural wood elements.
Before Remodel
The kitchen was a 1970’s era Leawood kitchen featuring dark woods, low light and old kitchen countertops, featuring old everything; flooring, cabinets, backsplash and kitchen layout.
