French-Farmhouse Inspired Kitchen & Mudroom

A better functioning kitchen with a cozy, rustic and elegant feel.

Project Goal
The goal of this kitchen design is to create a French farmhouse-inspired look. This is a popular choice for those who want a cozy, rustic feel with a touch of elegance. To achieve this, we incorporated the following key elements: 1. Utilizing natural materials such as painted wood cabinets, combined with stained wood, and a quartz backsplash. 2. Rustic finishes included polished brass cabinet hardware, a distressed brass dining table light, bead board on the sink wall, and a beautiful plaster-range surround. 3. A warm color palette added a welcoming feel to the kitchen, and we mixed beige on the kitchen perimeter and muted earth tones on the kitchen island. 4. We added open shelving which is a popular feature in French farmhouse kitchens, providing a functional and decorative storage solution. It allows for easy access to frequently used items, adding a touch of charm. 5. Traditional lighting was added and we choose antique brass chandeliers to complement the design. 6. Lastly, we added decorative accents, such as a three-tiered bookshelf near the range, which added character and charm to the space by highlighting cookbooks, rustic pottery, and plants.
